Making the house our home

We're slowly getting settled and putting our own touch on the new pad. With the help of Grandma and Grandpa over Easter weekend, we removed a lot of the wallpaper. The playroom is finished and the dining room is our current project. We'll tackle the kitchen next, but will probably take a little break so we don't run out of steam. Plus, it's finally gettting nice outside so we want to get out and enjoy the mountains and parks nearby.

Maggie enjoys her playroom right off the kitchen.

Dad carefully applying the first coat for our red dining room. Only 3 more to go!

April Showers

About 8 inches of snow has fallen today, with no end in sight! It's looking like the storm will stick around for a couple more days. Jim christened the snow blower this morning and was able to safely get up and down our steep driveway with ease. Of course, having 4 wheel drive helped!

Maggie and Mom stayed inside where it was warm and cozy.

White Easter

Our first Easter in Pennsylvania was certainly different than what we're used to. The Mass was tolerable, but we sure were missing our Bellarmine service! To top it off, as we left the church we faced Christmas-like snow showers! Spring definitely hasn't sprung here.

Grandma and Grandpa were in town this weekend and brought a taste of home with them, some Esther Price Easter eggs.

Maggie got an Easter basket too!

Moving to PA

The drive out to Tunkhannock went well. Maggie was tired of the car seat after 11 hours, but she did pretty well. BJ survived the drive and was nice and cozy in his carrier. He's enjoying the extra space in the new house, but hasn't ventured outside yet. We wouldn't want him to be eaten by a coyote or anything!

We are slowly getting settled and making a home. We've met several neighbors, including three sisters who live across the street. They stopped by to present their babysitting credentials and told us all about their hunting adventures this year. The 8 year old is just starting out with squirrels, but her big sister got a 4 point buck. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.

Maggie is very excited about her new highchair, although it doesn't make those vegetables taste any better.
