Welcome Summer

Summer has officially arrived! Maggie celebrated the holiday weekend by cutting her first tooth. We are enjoying the beautiful weather here and trying to get outside every day. Although, Maggie hates putting on sunscreen, wearing her sun hat, and she especially dislikes those pesky sunglasses.

Getting ready for a walk.

Chillin' in the front yard.

Office Fest

The city of Scranton hosted Office Fest this weekend in honor of the best show on television! We ventured down to the Steamtown Mall to take part in some of the festivities. "Angela" and "Kevin" were in town signing autographs. The line to meet the stars was over two hours long so we just admired from afar. It was a blast to be part of all the hoopla! There's an Office convention this fall, we can't wait to see what that's all about.

Fans brought some interesting items for the stars to sign.

It was great to see Angela with her hair down, she is actually quite pretty.

Jim and Peg sported Office gear for the occasion.

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday, which included sleeping in for Peg and going out for a yummy brunch after church. Maggie got Mommy the earrings pictured below. It was also a window treatment weekend and we finally got some valances and new blinds hung on many of our windows. We also recently hung some pictures on the walls; it's definitely starting to feel like home.

Spring has Sprung

Spring has finally arrived here in Tunkhannock! Most of the trees have leaves and the grass is getting tall. We have all sorts of nature around us, with deer, bunnies, groundhogs, tree frogs, and various birds. There is a robin's nest in the shrub just outside our kitchen window. It's been wonderful to watch the robin build her nest, lay the eggs, and just today the little birdies arrived!

Maggie is growing so big and has started to wear her summer clothes, size 12 months! She's moving into some interesting positions as she tries to figure out this crawling thing. Right now we're enjoying that she stays put, for those days are certainly numbered.

Maggie latest trick is blowing bubbles in her drool, very lady-like.

Dad's latest purchase, an essential for our 1.3 acres.

Meet Me In St. Louis

Maggie took her second airplane trip, this time to visit the Farwigs in St. Louis. The weekend was full of birthday celebrations for PawPaw and Aunt Julie. A trip to the botanical gardens and a park were highlights. We definitely enjoyed the warm sunny weather. Jim and Peg took advantage of the family babysitters and ventured out for a date of a movie and coffee.

The trip home was quite an adventure! Our first flight was delayed, so we were re-routed through Atlanta to make a connection to Scranton. The second flight also had maintenance issues and was delayed another 3 hours. Door to door it took us about 16 hours to get home! Maggie was quite the trooper and definitely has earned the "road warrior" status previously held by Mom.

An outing to the park, Maggie's first time in a swing.

Enjoying the Botanical Gardens

We suprised MawMaw and PawPaw at their gate in Atlanta. We hope they're having fun in Zurich.

Maggie and Mom found a quite corner for a nap.
