Halloween Festivities

We had a wonderful Wizard of Oz Halloween this year! Maggie expressed a desire to dress-up like Dorothy many months ago. She even grew out her hair so she could have braids. We worked hard to convince Claire to be Glinda the Good Witch (she wanted to be Sleeping Beauty), but once her costume arrived she was fully on board. What's not to love about a pink puffy dress, a magic wand and a crown? (Unfortunately, the crown went missing right before Trick or Treat.) Anna is at the age where we can torture her with all sorts of hooded, plush, animal costumes so she was the obvious choice for the Lion.

After a near-meltdown about wearing tights her dress, Maggie quickly remembered how trick-or-treat works! The big girls were running wild from house to house. Anna contentedly tagged along in her stroller, never once complaining that we were keeping her up past her bedtime. Claire and Maggie lasted just over an hour before they wore out and the pumpkins became too heavy to carry. It was a good thing we brought along the wagon, because it was a long, uphill ride home!

Dad and I really enjoyed helping you out for trick or treat again this year. The girls were a delight as they flew through the neighborhood. What fun!
